Both sides had to settle for a share of the spoils as Brora Rangers were left to rue a second half penalty miss after being pegged back late on by Fraserburgh at Dudgeon Park.
Brora started the better of the two sides and on eight minutes, Gary Farquhar threaded a free kick through to John Cameron but the striker saw his shot blocked by Fraserburgh goalkeeper Paul Leask.
Alan Hale then had Fraserburgh's first chance of the match on 18 minutes but his effort was pushed round the post by Michael McCallum in the Brora goal.
McCallum then came to his side's rescue on the half hour mark with a superb save. Neil Main's free kick deflected off Evan Murray which wrong-footed the goalkeeper although he managed to readjust and tip the ball over the bar.
The goalkeeper was in the thick of the action again eight minutes later when Neil Main's cross was met by a glancing header from the returning Gavin Wemyss but his effort was saved by McCallum.
Alan Hale then shot into the side netting for the visitors with a similar chance to the one he had earlier in the half as neither side was able to find a route to goal in a goalless opening 45 minutes.
Half time: Brora Rangers 0 Fraserburgh 0
Fraserburgh passed up a great chance to break the deadlock just three minutes after the restart. Brora defender Evan Murray was booked for a foul on Robert Morrice and from the resulting free kick, the Broch won a corner. Bryan Hay met the delivery with a header in front of goal but he nodded over when he should have at least tested the goalkeeper.
Jason Gunn then passed up a good chance for the home side before a good move by Fraserburgh on the hour mark saw the ball laid off the Jonathan Garden but he swept his shot over the bar.
The hosts opened the scoring on 61 minutes when two of their recent signings combined to full effect. Substitute Chris Sutherland on his home debut squared the ball across the face of the box to Gary Farquhar who showed a cool head to guide the ball beyond Leask.
Brora should have doubled their lead just a few minutes later when Fraserburgh substitute Robert Stephen fouled Sutherland in the penalty. John Cameron stepped up to take the resulting penalty but he skied his effort well over the crossbar.
Sutherland then almost set up a second Brora goal when his cross was met by an overhead kick from Cameron who failed in his attempt to atone for his penalty miss by sending his effort over the crossbar.
The Broch levelled the game eight minutes from the end when Russell McBride's cross from the left was headed home by Jonathan Garden from 16 yards out at the back post.
Brora had a glorious chance to win the match in the second minute of injury time with a breakaway move that saw Sutherland pick out MacAngus in the box but he put sent his header over the crossbar despite being unmarked.
