A late strike from Huntly's trialist gave the Black and Golds a crucial three points as they moved level with Cove Rangers and now sit six points behind their midweek opponents (Buckie Thistle) with a game in hand.
Huntly started the game on the front foot and it took a fantastic display of goalkeeping from Daniel Bell to prevent them taking a first half lead. Within 2 minutes a Russell Guild effort was deflected on to post and away for a corner from which Neil Reid's powerful shot was turned round the post by Bell.
Five minutes in and a great save by Bell saw him tip a Soane free kick from the left away. From resulting corner Bell was again alert saving a Richie Taylor effort. Six minutes later and he pulled of a great acrobatic save to turn a Mike Ewen chipped shot behind.
He continued to compile his own highlight reel save from Soane volley and then denied Reid from the 20th minute corner as Huntly began to wonder what it would take to get past the stopper.
The visitors went close again on 35 minutes when a Soane header landed on roof of the net and a minute later the same player chipped the ball goalwards only for that man Daniel Bell to tip it over the bar denying what would have been a fantastic finish to a well constructed move.
Five minutes before the break a good throughball from Soane found Russell Guild but his close range effort was turned away by Bell while Mike Ewen had a couple of efforts, one before the break and one before the hour but he struck both wide.
While Bell was earning his wage packet at the other end debutant Neil Hastie had been relatively untroubled with just one save to make from what was no more than a half chance.
However he endeared himself to the Christie Parkers with a crucial stop in the second period when lively subs Liam Baxter and Mark Lamont bore down on goal, the latter being denied by a fantastic stop by the former Clach keeper.
It was beginning to look more and more like a draw was on the cards however with 87 minute on the clock a move down the right saw Ross McKenzie and the Huntly trialist linking up with the latter firing a shot goalwards which was deflected on it's way past Daniel Bell.
Brora did have one last chance to grab a point when a free kick played into the box fell to Scott MacAngus 12 yards out but he fired the ball over the bar to ensure it was the visitors who left with the points.
